Pop princess Rihanna has told cops boyfriend Chris Brown abused her even before the shocking weekend attack that left her bruised and bloodied, it was reported last night.
Citing a confidential police file, TMZ.com said Rihanna had told probers that Brown’s volatile temper was ongoing - and escalating. No details were given.
TMZ said the police report states that Rihanna and Brown were arguing early Sunday in Los Angeles‘ tony Hancock Park when Rihanna yanked the keys out of the ignition of their rented Lamborghini.
She then enraged Brown when she “faked a call” and said something like “he’s dropping me off,” and “make sure the cops are there,” TMZ said, citing the police report.
That’s when Brown spat out, “I’m going to kill you,” TMZ said.
An industry insider disputed the account.
“It’s all bogus,” a music business source told the Daily News. “Someone is trying to portray her as the aggressor. She’s no shrinking violet, but there’s no reason to believe she went crazy.”
Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, has declined comment.
Reports last night said Brown has changed his status on his private Facebook page to “single” and speaks out about Rihanna for the first time in a posting.
“You’ll begin to see her true colours [sic]. Believe it!”
As the Daily News first reported, the brutal fight that landed Rihanna in the hospital erupted when Brown got a suggestive text message from another woman after a pre-Grammy party Saturday night.
“He got a booty call. He got a text. Rihanna saw it and she got upset. They started to argue. She got out of the car. He wanted her to get back in, so he grabbed her,” the well-placed music industry source said.
“She pulled away. That’s when she’s told people he hit her.”
Rihanna, 20, had “visible injuries” when cops arrived. She’s been cooperating - and freezing out Brown, the source said.
Brown is due for another interview with investigators. He was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats Sunday night and released on $50,000 bail.
A spokeswoman said the district attorney’s office does not expect cops to return the case until Tuesday at the earliest.
Meanwhile, both stars were edged out for NAACP Image Awards last night. Brown’s nomination for Outstanding Male Artist, an honor that went to Jamie Foxx, was not even mentioned on the broadcast. Rihanna was up for Outstanding Female Artist, an award that went to Beyoncé.

Did y’all know that with technology today, I could easily be placed on the top of that car that Rihanna is in even if I have never met her? It is so easy to put people where they have never been, and make someone’s face look how it has never looked, so these pictures of Rihanna are probably all fake as hell. I don’t see why we can’t let Rihanna and Drake start their romance and leave Chris where he used to be… in our hearts. I can’t stand any many who thinks that it is okay to put their hands on anyone. I don’t like violence period, and now that I have a 1 year old baby, I am even stronger in my beliefs than ever before. Because no man will ever put his hands on me and no ONE ever will put they hands on my baby because she is my life. My mama taught me everything I need to know about having me a blessed relationship, and one of the main things is to keep people out ya business. I am only 14, and yes I have made some mistakes, but I wouldn’t change anything because my lil mama is striaght heaven sent and that is all that matters. Leave Rihanna alone, because this stress is not gona help this woman who has gone through enough as it is. God bless!
