Rapper Dolla
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) — A Georgia man suspected of shooting to death a 21-year-old up-and-coming rapper at a ritzy Los Angeles shopping center Monday afternoon is being held on $1 million bail, Los Angeles Police said.
According to his publicist, Sue Vannasing, she said Dolla was shot in the head around 3:10 p.m. while he and another rapper, DJ Shabbazz, waited in the Beverly Center mall area after shopping. About two hours later, Los Angeles police detained a “person of interest” as he attempted to board a plane out of Los Angeles International Airport. The man allegedly drove his silver Mercedes SUV from Beverly Center to the airport.The suspect goes by the name Aubery Berry. Here’s what went down. Sources say after the shooting, the LAPD put out an alert that the suspect may have fled to the Los Angeles International Airport and the LAX police spotted a man who matched the description, sitting in the lobby area of Terminal 1.
The 21-year-old rapper, born Roderick Anthony Burton II, was signed to Akon’s Konvict imprint through Jive Records. He told Rap-Up about his harsh upbringing in an article that appeared in the magazine last year. He was born into death when his twin died at birth, he witnessed his father commit suicide, his sister is incarcerated, and he had been shot previously.

Dolla was to young and talented… He was a really good guy, just hung around the wrong people… He will be missed… we will never know what his career would have been… but in the short time that i have known him he was a sweet and kind person… to young… to sad…R.I.P.

Was he famous?
Very scary, but truthfully, I’ve never heard of him so how famous is he? Shooting someone in a public place that is so prominent is frightening whether famous or not.

Dolla was killed at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles of all places right when he got to L.A.

Stay strong and keep your heads held way up high, cause I know the justice is gonna bite the asses of the ones that did this to him.I really admired Dolla, and it brings me to tears every time I think about what happened to him. DOLLA was a Great young man, he was not what u would expect with all of the tattoo’s.. he was well spoken and smart and figured out a way to make a life for himself.. him being shot n the head n broad daylite should tell us that this wasn’t some simple arguement that went too far..
